Containers Installation, Use and Maintenance

Article 1: Introductory Provisions

These guidelines ensure that containers remain in optimal condition and maximize service life. Intermodal Storage Containers is not liable for any damages or losses incurred due to non-compliance with these guidelines.

Article 2: Handling Containers

  1. Transport Requirements

    • Containers should be transported on a flat cargo deck of a truck that meets the necessary width requirements.
    • Ensure the support structure is adequate to prevent damage during transport.
  2. Preparation

    • Secure all loose parts and components inside the container.
    • Use appropriate lifting equipment, following all safety regulations.
  3. Lifting Guidelines

    • Containers should only be lifted using designated lifting points.
    • Forklifts may be used only with proper loading procedures.
  4. Legal Compliance

    • Compliance with all safety regulations is mandatory during handling.

Article 3: Site Readiness

  1. Foundation Standards

    • Containers must be placed on a level concrete foundation, acceptable designs provided upon request.
    • Proper foundation preparation should occur at least one week prior to delivery for optimal curing.
  2. Foundation Specifications

    • Foundation support points vary based on container length and must be evened out to prevent structural issues.

Article 4: Ventilation

  1. A minimum gap must be maintained between the container’s underside and the ground to facilitate ventilation and prevent moisture accumulation.
  2. Openings around the container should remain unobstructed, but measures may be taken to prevent pest entry.

Article 5: Drainage

Ensure proper drainage around the container to prevent water accumulation and moisture condensation inside.

Article 6: Utility Connections

  1. Customers are responsible for connecting containers to utility networks and obtaining necessary inspections.
  2. Intermodal Storage Containers is not liable for any damage to goods stored within the container or system malfunctions.

Article 7: Electrical Standards

  1. All electrical installations must be performed by authorized personnel, following safety regulations.
  2. Regular inspections should assess wiring and electrical systems.

Article 8: Maintenance of Water Systems

  1. Ensure proper connections for water supply and sewage systems by authorized personnel to prevent freezing and damage.
  2. All fixtures and connections must be regularly maintained to ensure functionality and prevent blockages.

Article 9: Final Provisions

  1. Any disputes or issues will be governed by the laws of the United States of America.
